Sherwin-Williams Incredible white dupe: common questions

Is Dulux Heritage a good match for Sherwin-Williams Incredible white?

Yes. Dulux Heritage Velvet Matt Paint - Tinted Colour Match matches Sherwin-Williams Incredible white (NCS S 1002-Y50R) at 98%, mixed to the same colour reference, so it reads the same on your wall.

How much cheaper is the Sherwin-Williams Incredible white dupe?

The trade match starts at £23.91, up to 40% less than buying Sherwin-Williams Incredible white direct.

Is the trade dupe the same quality as Sherwin-Williams Incredible white?

It is trade paint, mixed to the same colour reference. Trade paint carries more pigment than retail, so it covers in fewer coats and stands up to cleaning. You pay less because there is no designer name on the tin.

How close is NCS S 1002-Y50R to Sherwin-Williams Incredible white?

Exact NCS match: closer than the eye can tell apart. We measure the colour against the NCS shade it is mixed to, and this one sits 0.55 dE apart (under 1 is invisible, 1 to 2 shows only side by side, over 3.5 is a different shade). The store tints every tin to that NCS code, so this is how close the paint itself will be before brand and finish come into it.

What does a 98% match actually mean?

The percentage is our overall grade for the trade product against Sherwin-Williams Incredible white. It combines three things: how close the NCS shade it is mixed to sits to the original, the tinting quality of the trade brand, and how the finish carries colour. Platinum is 98% and above, Gold 96%, Silver 94%, Bronze below that. It grades the product, not the colour on its own. The colour on its own is the NCS fit on this page: a measured distance to the shade in the tin, where under 1 dE is invisible, 1 to 2 shows only side by side, and above 3.5 is a shift you will notice. Whatever the score, put a tester on the wall before you order tins.

How quickly can I get it?

Next Day Paint tints your colour to order. Order before 3pm, Monday to Friday, and it ships for next working day delivery at £3.99. They email you tracking when it leaves.

Can I try the colour before buying a full tin?

Most trade finishes come in a tester pot, and the page shows the tester price beside the tin price. Put it on the wall and look at it in daylight and under your own lamps before you order litres, because a tinted tin cannot go back.

Can I return it if I change my mind?

Next Day Paint tints each tin to your colour after you order, so they cannot resell it and cannot take it back unless it arrives faulty. Put a sample pot on the wall before you commit to full tins.
